ABOUT ME

Hello! I'm Courtney Smith, a current senior at the College of Charleston. In the Spring of 2023, I'll be graduating with degrees in Communications and Political Science. Along side my main fields of study, I am also passionate about women's rights and am lucky enough to earn a minor in Women and Gender Studies as well.

On campus (outside of the classroom), I'm the Operations Manager for the College of Charleston student media organization.

I have passions for leadership, production, and people. While my main area of expertise is in broadcast media production, I have experience in photography, graphic design, and writing as well.

Mountain Biking

I grew up in upstate South Carolina, only a 30 minute drive to the White Water Center! I spent summer days there with my mom enjoying the great bike trails.

Sunset at the waterfront

Taking a long walk at the end of a busy day is one way I like to clear my head and enjoy the outdoors! My favorite sunset spot is at the pier at Brittle Bank Park in downtown Charleston.

Travel

I really enjoy seeing different parts of the world! I was lucky enough to study abroad with the CofC Communications department my junior year of college. That experience was fantastic. My favorite place that I've ever visited was Florence, Italy (my host city for 4 months!).
